Premarital Counseling
Six personalized sessions rooted in real-life skills
Service Description
Before the vows and the venue, before the table settings and honeymoon plans, there is the relationship itself. A relationship called into being by love and sustained through daily choice. We’re Jon and Jules, a husband-and-wife team married for 27 years, and we believe marriage is more than a celebration. It is a covenant. A sacred commitment to grow, forgive, serve, and choose one another again and again. Love doesn’t need to be perfect, just practiced with intention, humility, and grace. Our premarital counseling helps couples prepare not only for a wedding day, but for a lifetime of partnership rooted in shared values. We create a supportive, honest, and joyful space to talk about the things that matter most: communication, conflict, intimacy, money, family dynamics, beliefs, expectations, and what it truly looks like to build a life together. A key part of our private premarital work includes the Prepare/Enrich assessment, a research-based tool that helps couples better understand their relationship. Rather than guessing where to focus, the assessment provides a clear, shared starting point so our work together is intentional, focused, and deeply personalized. We approach this work with deep respect for your beliefs, recognizing that strong marriages are built through both relational grounding and practical skill. We go beyond traditional premarital counseling by combining relationship education, assessment-based insight, and experiential practices. You won’t just talk about connection, you’ll practice it—learning how to stay present when emotions run high, repair when conflict arises, and return to one another with curiosity and grace. Jon is a licensed psychologist with a PhD in Counseling Psychology and decades of experience in premarital and marriage counseling, men’s work, and creating emotionally safe spaces for honest conversation. Jules is a sex & relationship coach trained in the Somatica® Method, helping couples explore communication, desire, and connection in ways that honor body, heart, and spirit. Together, we balance insight with warmth, structure with compassion, and professional expertise with genuine care—supporting couples as they prepare for a marriage that is both sacred and lived.
