Before the vows

A premarital counseling experience rooted in faith and built for real life, helping couples strengthen communication, deepen connection, and co-create a sacred vision for marriage before saying “I do.”

Wise preparation for a sacred commitment.

Most couples spend months planning the wedding day and very little time preparing for the life that follows. Premarital counseling isn’t about fixing problems. It’s about setting a trajectory for long-term success right away.

Faith teaches commitment.

Preparation teaches practice.

Two ways to begin your marriage on purpose

Every couple is different. That’s why we offer two premarital counseling paths, one designed for couples who want a guided group experience, and one for couples who prefer fully personalized support. Couples are welcome to choose one or both.

Questions?

Who is this for?

This is for couples who…

  • Want to start marriage with intention, not assumptions

  • Take their faith and relationship seriously

  • Are engaged or preparing for marriage

  • Want tools they’ll still be using years from now

Why Hey Jules?

A different approach to premarital counseling.

At Hey Jules, we believe connection isn’t a luxury, it’s a life skill. Our premarital work blends warmth, honesty, and faith-informed guidance with real-world tools couples actually use.

This isn’t about perfection.

It’s about preparation.

What you'll work on?

In both options we will have the conversations that matter most. We incorporate spiritual beliefs while keeping the work grounded, practical, and relevant to everyday life.

  • Communication styles and repair

  • Conflict and emotional regulation

  • Intimacy, desire, and expectations

  • Faith, values, and meaning

  • Money stories and decision-making

  • Family boundaries and future planning

  • Creating a shared vision for marriage

In person or virtual?

Both. Sessions are available virtually and in person in Denver, allowing couples to choose the format that best fits their schedule and location.

Replace pastoral guidance?

No. Our premarital counseling is designed to work alongside pastoral or faith-based guidance, not replace it. Many couples find that combining spiritual counsel with practical relationship skills creates a stronger foundation for marriage.

Required to share?

No. You always choose what you share and how deep you go. There is no pressure to overshare. All couple-specific exercises and conversations remain private between you and your partner.

Is this therapy?

No. This is premarital preparation and skill-building, not therapy or crisis counseling. The focus is on learning tools, strengthening communication, and building confidence for the marriage ahead.

Is one approach better
than another?

Many couples choose to begin with the group experience to build a shared foundation and normalize the conversations, then continue with private sessions for more personalized support. The group offers structure and perspective, while private sessions allow space to go deeper into your unique dynamic. Together, they create a well-rounded and thoughtful preparation for marriage.

Start Your Marriage On Purpose

Because the strongest marriages aren’t built on hope alone.
They’re built with intention.
